We accept Both MAC and PC Files, but please note the following:

All e-mail attachments and ftp files must be stuffed using Stuffit for MAC and zipped using WinZip for PC. If files are not compressed properly, they will transfer corrupted (especially fonts). PDF's do not need to be compressed.

Native files should be to final size, with bleed if needed. Include ALL screen and printer fonts, and ALL images used with the native files. If images are embedded, it is still recommended to send the images with the native files. If native files are in spreads, please specify if they are printer or reader spreads. Single pages in proper order are preferred.

We accept e-mail files up to 5 megabytes. Anything over this size should be uploaded to our FTP site. Call for uploading instructions.

Please send hard copy for every job whenever possible.

PDFs
PK does inhouse imposition, so PDFs MUST be 1 up. Books must be in SINGLE pages in proper page order (NOT spreads). All PDFs need to be print quality, CMYK color. Please EMBED ALL FONTS and INCLUDE BLEED if necessary. If you are not sure of the font embedding, please send the fonts with the pdf.

Outdated programs
Please note that outdated programs such as PageMaker, or older versions of a program may not provide the results desired (type reflow, incorrect color, etc.). A tech charge may be applied to trouble shoot these programs.

Word, Publisher, and Similar programs
These programs are generally RGB, the default resolution is 72 DPI and type reflow is an issue We recommend running a printed proof before running the entire job. Color, image and type adjustments cannot be made to these files by PK. Sending a PDF of these files is highly recommended.

Please note:
A PDF proof may not show exactly how your file will print on our digital printer. In cases where a job is critical (in terms of color, placement, binding, or a special type of paper) or may have overprinting enabled, a printed proof is suggested. We realize this may slow down the initial delivery of your job, but we prefer to get the job produced correctly the first time. Also, please check with the post office to verify any postal requirements on mailed pieces.
